Loki doesn't understand this tradition at all.

"What does baking cookies and forming bread houses constitute to the birth of a Midgardian deity?"
"...Santa Claus? Who is he? Is he from Svartalfheim?"
Loki, despite being confused, will bake with you.
He loves vanilla extract.
He did not like drinking it.
He likes rolling out the cookie dough!
"This is very relaxing!"
He's all a bubble with questions about Christmas tradition.
"The blasted internet thing said that the name of this festival originally meant 'Christ's Mass,' and last time I checked, Mister Claus is not related to this Jesus."
"Well, I understand many people choose to celebrate the holiday differently, but why celebrate it at all? Why not have 'Santa Day'?"
"You know, if we went back to my ceremonial festivals, there would be drinking, partying... lots of romantic occasions..."
Loki hates using the cookie cutters. Oddly enough, this is the one sharp thing he's bad at using.
You find cookie dough in his hair.
Making the gingerbread houses is actually fun with him. He's very intricate and detailed.
"I used a spell to keep the pieces together. Your house will definitely last through the winter."
You introduce him to candy canes.
He just thought they were ornaments, at first.
The way he found out they were candy was quite shocking -- you had eaten half of it and he thought you had gone insane.
When he found out otherwise, he thought you were.
"What do you mean you eat these?!"
"No, this holiday is preposterous," he sighed. "Even Michael Bubble can't make it better."

Loki is very inept in snow, surprisingly
He cannot
I repeat
CANNOT for his life make anything with snow (without magic)
The idea of a snow fort (at first) truly upsets him.
"Darling, my hands will go chapped!"
"What is the point of building without magic? I can make snow, and I know I'm Jotunnar, but what is the point?"
You take him outside as soon as you have about 3 feet of good, snowman snow.
He's grumbling and compaining the whole time.
When you finally start packing up a fort, he sinks to his knees and tries his best to help you.
He may complain before helping his darling, but hey
He helps.
He helps good.
Even if he is bad at it.
When he gets the hang of it, he starts having fun and telling you stories.
"When I was a child on Asgard, Mother and Father did not want Thor and I playing in the snow. Perhaps it was my heritage and my father being paranoid, but we were told it was unfitting for princes to dirty their clothes with the weather."
"I know! How ridiculous."
When your fort is high enough, you sit within it.
"Mind if I join?" he'll purr.
"What do you mean I have to make another? We've been out here for an hour!"
Once his fort is finished, he starts lobbing snowballs at you.
"I am a prince! I've never been so mortally afflicted in my entire life!"
You know how he cries at everything?
He's snffling around the house and it is NOT just because of the cold.
"Will you miss me when I'm gone, my love?"
Can we get a round of applause for how this boy takes his man cold?
He is such a drama queen it isn't even funny.
Well actually
Anyway when you try to explain to him that it probably isn't too bad and he's just being overdramatic because Asgardian healers would have just fixed it before he even felt any symptoms, Loki stares at you and does his funny breathing thing before he starts panicking.
"Haven't I been a good husband?"
"Do I deserve to be treated this way? To be mocked on the brink of death?!"
Yes, he is standing up and wandering around the house as he's having these conversations with you.
The cold goes away in 3-5 business days and he actually prays to the norns that his recovery wwas "speedy."
Headcanon request: Loki being protective and/or jealous?
He doesn't want to admit he's protective at first, so you really see it before he warns you.
He's not stifling, but he does have this manner of keeping tabs on you when you're in new places or if you're around someone he has pegged potentially dangerous.
This could mean a number of things.
For starters, this could mean you might have a bug on you (gifted by Tony), or he might just follow loosely behind you.
Most of the time, though, you are free to your own devices.
Let's be honest: Loki's been around the block enough times to know when creepy is creepy.
He usually doesn't get jealous.
It's just when he notices someone won't back off and/or you've started to get flustered around someone is when he reacts.
Let's say Charming Dude McHottie walks along, right?
You and Loki are at a party?
Loki starts hovering a little closer and he'll even set his hands on your arms or your shoulders to let this other guy know exactly who he is to you.
That usually solves all the issues.
But sometimes, there are people who don't back off.
Loki almost put a man in the hospital once because he was harassing you.
No one ever found out it was Loki who did it, of course.
