Views of Bucharest from my window. Taken on the very first film shot with my Lomomod No. 1 cardboard camera. The results are quite impressive for a cardboard camera with a plastic liquid-filled lens (in this case, plain-old water). Quite nice. The film was an Ilford XP-2 with ISO 400 sensitivity, as recommended for most daylight conditions with this camera. The shutter speed can be 1/100 in normal mode or manual long exposure in bulb mode. The lens is not very sharp and here I didn’t use any aperture reduction, so it’s max aperture. The focus distance is 2.5m to infinity when no adjustment discs are installed and 1.5m to 5m when one is installed. Film advance without breaking the camera is a little tricky, but doable with the first film. Assembly and loading/unloading must be done with special care, as cardboard components can be damaged easily, having an impact on the film. But it’s a fun little camera to put together and shoot and it’s a nice present for people who like to put together things, so I recommend it.
