it was honestly infuriating to him how much he cared for you, yet tried not to

he feared that if he got too close to you, he'd only end up hurting you, even if he didn't mean to

so keeping his distance from you was the best thing to do

he could still secretly admire you from afar, without anyone finding out about his crush on you and without putting you in danger

of course, lon'qu knew this wasn't a permanent solution for his feelings for you

but for now, this had to be enough…
