Apparently it’s both MLP:FiM’s 10th anniversay and World Mental Health Day, so if you want to pretend FiM never ended and also think that mental health is something maybe kind of important, here’s your casual reminder that my wife and I have an ongoing fancomic that’s striving to be positive rep for the non-neurotypical because we too are sick to death of seeing our respective conditions only existing in media for the sake of “very special episodes” and serial killers.

Bonus points if you’ve always wished that the fandom hadn’t turned the blonde cross-eyed equine into a walking punchline that couldn’t decide if it was just a “dumb blonde” joke or something arguably far worse, because man we’ve got her and I keep being told we do her better than anybody.

You want Discord making puns just because he enjoys annoying others? Maybe him adopting otherworldly strangers because he’s infatuated with the raw disarray that follows them around? Buddy, I got you covered.

You want Vinyl Scratch figuring out some life shit while dealing with an invisible disability? See you in chapter 4, I am very excited for it!  You want to see a fusion of ancient Egyptian and Celtic mythologies representing the concept of death via a suave but temperamental dog in a suit? That’s weird but funny enough hey guess what?

And the fun added bonus of this is that the more people that read it the more of you there are to keep me accountable in the event that I royally fuck up, which is something I do not want to do with this because if it fails to help normalize such basic shit as “hey you can have depression and not be a walking stereotype caricature” then what the fuck am I even doing?

There are a weird number of comments on porn galleries that I’ve been inexplicably uploaded to saying the writing is shit, but also there’s comments saying the opposite of that, so if nothing else you can contribute to my eternal sense of confusion until I finally ascend to my final form, which is assumedly some sort of flying cat that cannot stop making the blep face.

PATCH NOTES: v1.1 (2021-02-14):

Vinyl Scratch emotional spectrum has been thoroughly rebalanced.

Royalty's Luna branch Heart of Stone class buff has been significantly nerfed.

Fixed rare bug where Twilight Sparkle's wing conflicted with Ditzy's ear attachments in render pipeline.

Developer notes: I believe that if you backpedal to alter or perfect things every time you start to feel unhappy with them, you'll never actually get anywhere - "perfect is the enemy of done," as it goes - so imagine how unhappy we both have to be on this end to break that rule. The basic issue was that the cast reactions have been largely inadequate or misdirecting, with Vinyl in particular getting a rather mixed response and read from the audience across our various avenues. We settled on only altering this most recent page a bit, but for a while we were considering completely overhauling the last couple pages! Thanks to the folks on the Discord who helped us brainstorm through this to come to this solution and avoid delaying moving ahead for a few weeks.
