Do you ever feel like you’re suffocating? . . . I almost drowned once. The water filling my lungs stung as I gasped for air. I was terrified. I didn’t have time to regret the decision I made that got me to that moment, drowning in my mistake. I dreamed I could swim and went down a water slide without a life jacket. All I wanted to do in the moment was live. I struggled to survive as others around me were rushing to save my life. . . . I was fortunate that day. I learned that living is a struggle. But also others are there to help when that struggle is so difficult you start to drown and feel like you are suffocating. . . . I learned a lesson today. Living is still a struggle. But I might be suffocating slowly. In real life there are no life jackets, and no life guards. Just other people sucking what little air you have, out of the room. You can either let them have the air in the room, or you can leave. The moment a person would rather watch you suffocate is the moment you have to decide how much you’re worth. You are the only person who can choose to take your next breath. No one can do it for you. * * * #jsydswritings #inreallife #jsydspoetry #suffocate #writersfollowwriters #livingalone #thedarkside #lonelyliving #helpyourself #wordoftheday https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqx1U-qg1UY/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16dbkh19mc0cv
