how are you liking this so far? also potentially weird question: how is the first person pov? i want to play but i'm wary of buying a game that's first person only bc of motion sickness. :x
i actually havent had a chance to play outer worlds much as i want since i was home for thanksgiving, but what i’ve done so far i like. it feels like a mix of bioshock and mass effect to me but if you’ve played fallout i’m told it’s similar to that too (which would make sense since i believe they made a fallout game).
i’m not a huge fan of 1p pov but i can handle it for something i like. bioshock, portal, and overwatch are really the only 1p pov games i can compare outer worlds to. i much prefer 3p pov for exploration and rpgs. with portal and ovw there’s little interaction w the maps, but in bioshock and outer worlds you’re encouraged/you often need to explore and look for small and numerous things in an open environment. that abundance of visual data in a 1p pov can be a little overstimulating for me so i just play outer worlds in short bursts for maybe an hour or two at a time before my eyes/concentration gets tired, whereas i can play 3p pov games for longer. maybe because it takes less effort to move the camera and i get more surrounding data from one screencap of a 3p game than in three different angles in a 1p game. or at least that’s my best guess why 1p games tire me out.
but i have never dealt with motion sickness brought on by 1p pov, before so i can’t vouch for if it would upset you that way. i am admittedly playing on easy so maybe if i had to jerk the camera around to keep fighting enemies i would feel differently
