Can you describe Vanero and Hoifur's pitch relationship
OK SO I have a lot i wanna say about it ANDD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING ME CAUSE IMMA SOB IN A SEC, so imma throw it under a read more, and Ill throw this out there too, this is my opinion of their relationship, but Vanero belongs to @lordtoxin so you could also ask them for their take on it too ^ u^ /
OKay so for their relationships it has two distinct parts, and imma break into separate sections cause this is also gonna be a small headcanon dump about how i see kismesis. SO HERE WE GOOOOO
SO Hoifur has a huge dislike and outright hatred of those in the highblood caste, really Teal and above, he’d hate jades, but respects the work they do, so they get a pass. On top of this Hoifur is hot headed, irritated easy, and when challenged tends to one up the person who challenged him, but hes also A BIG DUMB GAY WHOS PASSIONATE. Cue Vanero, who also PASSIONATE AND A BIG GAY and they crush mad hard cause they both think the other is hot. They have a lot of passion, and they both enjoy the spirit and competition of challenging each other, its a lot of them trying to flirt to one up the other, and it can get AGGRESSIVELY PASSIONATE really fast, they both irritate the hell out of each other when they try to one up each other. They also sometimes just say dumb shit to each other, or like use their skills to get them something nice to prove their superiority. Its a lot of HOT MAD PASSION, and a big gay mess.
On the other hand, and this plays a lot into how I see Kismesis’, is that its a romantic relationship and while Pitch relationships can be aggressive, its not all violent about hurting the other, that would be abuse and the quadrant would never have longevity, or it would be horrific, and the canon implies that it can last. Pitch relationships are still based on love, each person still deeply cares for and loves the other partner and that true for Vanero and Hoifur. They both care about each other and there are genuine moments of love between them that's not hot-headed aggressive passion. In times like these Hoifur would say something like this to Vanero:
“So uhh, so I ,,, care about you,,, like I totally hate your guts and your stupidly hot face and bod, but I care about you, so uhhh if anyone tries to hurt you, I want you to tell me and I’ll cull em for you,,, cause, like, I want the only person to be putting scratches on you in the future is me “
its based on a real connection, Vanero makes Hoifur feel safe, loved, and secure, even if Hoifur hates lots of parts about him. Hoifur has lived on an island alone, fighting seadwellers and others who would take it his whole life, and felt like he could die at any time, hes also on an island by himself, and thats an incredibly isolating experience. Finally, someone comes along who wants to see him, be there and, makes him feel safe. Now Vanero isnt mine and you should ask Toxin for a better reading of Vanero, but Vanero also gets security and validation out of this relationship. Hoifur loves the foods he makes and wants him to be the greatest chef ever, and wants to fuel Vanero’s dream. SO yeah,in pitch relationships there is cuddling and love and telling the other that you love them want them around, even if you hate parts of em. ((as a secret, Hoifur has totally balled and out his heart out there for Van))
