TowQueen ship headcanon time because they've been plaguing my mind recently (humanized! not sure how would this work with them as cars but maybe it does)
to start it off: I really do think both of them are neurodivergent. Lightning reads as ADHD to me, impulsive, restless, y'all know him. Mater feels autistic-coded, with some overlapping ADHD traits too, and zero shame about any of it (as he should!)
so. cuddling.
I like to think they rock back and forth gently while cuddling. completely unconscious, just stimming. they slowly fall into the same rhythm without realizing it, and it’s grounding in that quiet, safe way
Lightning might occasionally become aware of it and let out a soft chuckle, amused and fond more than anything. Mater wouldn't usually notice, but when he does, he won't stop unless he realizes it might bother McQueen.
it’s their small thing, that happens when they feel safe together.
