It's been 10 years since my mother was taken away from me and it still hurts just as much as it did on that horrible morning. I've learned that the pain will never go away, you'll just learn to live with it. 

One of the things I remember from that day was my cousin pointing at the sky and telling me that my mom was with God so I looked up and wondered "why" and to this day I am still wondering why He took her away from me. I was in so much denial I convinced myself that she had moved back to El Salvador to get a break from all the craziness at the time. Sometimes I still believe she'll be back. I can't remember a lot about her but everyone always tells me that she treated me like a fine china doll. With so much love and care. I will always be grateful that there was someone on this earth who loved me so.

Another thing people say is that my mother had a heart of gold and I feel so much pride when they say that. If your mom is sincerely a good person who wants what's best for you and is trying her hardest please don't take that for granted. Remember to love her and to let her know that she is loved because as much as I loved my mom, I know that she passed away feeling so alone. Always give your mom a kiss or a hug - that's the last thing I gave my mom. Just try not to be too hard on her. Often we forget that mothers are going through things just as their children are but they put on a brave face to make our lives easier.

Losing a mother is one of the things I would never wish upon anyone because the pain is unimaginable.

(Again this is all if your mother is a good person to you and in general. I'm not trying to tell you guys you must love your mom even though she's abusive and whatnot.)
