WINE OF THE WEEK | SPECIAL FEATURE LONGBOARD LAGER
Here is a special review on a semi-unknown beer that I have come to love and wanted to share with the readers.
Longboard Lager from the Kona Brewing Company is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. Longboard Lager has some light yeast and hops and overall is very smooth and it goes down easy. I compare the taste to a subtle combination of Stella Artois and a light American lager (Bud Light). The beer pours a light lemon gold, mild haze, with a sugar white head.
Every person that I have introduced to Longboard Lager has become an instant fan and is hooked. Beer enthusiasts and casual beer drinkers have both been thoroughly impressed with this Hawaiian Island Lager. I highly recommend it and next time you are in a bar, ask the barkeep if they have Longboard Lager and give it a try!
Longboard Lager sells for $11-$14 for a 12-pack on the West Coast, and is slightly more expensive on the East Coast.
