so I haven’t been as active this past week b/c highschool but nevermind that have some fish

okay, today was a long day of dipnetting, so instead of making individual posts on each fish I caught, I figured I might as well make one longer journal-esque post

this was the same stream I was at last week, so there were lots of longnose dace (Rhinichthys cataractae). this was the only one I bothered to take a photo of

I also got a few speckled dace (Rhinichthys osculus). There were a few of the last time, but they all jumped out of the net before I could get a photo :P

besides the longnose dace, these redside shiners (Richardsonius balteatus) were the most common fish I found. I’ve never seen these in this creek before, so I made sure to get plenty of pictures.

this was the least common fish I found- only one specimen between both trips- the mottled sculpin (Cottus bairdii). There used to be tons here when I was younger, but recently there have been way less.
