-- He stared with emptiness at his childhood home, the wood rotting, frames to the doors and window falling a part, and the home still sectioned off so there could be no entry. Kakashi kept his feelings in tact; it was no struggle for him to do that anymore. His father had made the choice to go against the Ninja Code. He had to suffer in his consequences but rather he decided to take the easy way out.
A long year had passed since Kakashi had found his father. So much had happened after that as well. The young prodigy was more alone than ever; this was his decision to live a solitary lifestyle. Others only seemed to be distractions; they served not a single use to him. The young silver haired boy proved himself in the Academy though, he was only it for a year and he graduated at the top of his class before most of his other peers. An accomplishment that only made him more full of himself, only encouraging him to belittle others who didn’t seem to be the perfect shinobi in every way.
Though he was eager to get started, the team he was on was delayed in getting started on beginning missions. His sensei was Konoha’s famous Yellow Flash, Minato Namikaze. He didn’t think too fondly of the others on his teams. Rin Nohara who will be the medical nin of their team had potential, but she didn’t seem like she was much useful in anything else besides medical ninjutsu. He preferred her rather than the pathetic excuse of shinobi that was on his team.
Obito Uchiha. A boy who claimed how powerful the Uchiha’s were, yet failed to show it in anyway. Not only that, but he was a horrible distraction to the team, he seemed more concerned with winning over Rin’s heart than practicing the proper Ninja Code.
Rolling his eyes in annoyance, Kakashi turned on his heel away from his home without a single connection to it anymore. It was just a useless place he lived in at one point. He took long, relaxed strides and headed back towards his new apartment, taking hidden pathways to avoid people. He kept his mind clear and only concerned himself with a 'To-Do' list on jutsu’s he wanted to begin learning as soon as possible. If he was going to show Minato-sensei that they were on equal ground, he could only accomplish this by beating the Yellow Flash in a battle. One he was confidant he could handle by himself.
As he marched up the stairs, his eyes were casted comfortably on the group and his hands deep in his pockets. His eyes shot up however when he heard loud knocking on what he believed to be the door that lead to his living space. Catching sight of long, thick, and bright right hair, Kakashi’s face became hard in response.
Why was Kushina Uzumaki at his door?
He had met her a few times, he didn’t know much about her besides that she was in romantic relations with his sensei, and that she was also loud and hot tempered, he had heard it only once and he didn’t care to know what it was over. Minato-sensei seemed used to it as well and sheepishly apologized to his future students, but Kakashi wasn’t really concerned with the woman at all since she wasn’t on his team or probably any use to his future.
“Uzumaki-san,” Kakashi announced himself as he stood a distance from her and his door. “Is Minato-sensei calling us in for another meeting?” He knew that probably wasn’t the case, why would he send his romantic partner to fetch him? There must be another reason she was here.
“You’re here on personal business.” It was a statement rather than a question, his facial expression blank and giving nothing away. His usual look towards anything that came at him.
