Perfectionism can be such a hard task master.
This Christmas, why don't we just take a break from finding the perfect gifts, wrapping them perfectly, making the perfect dinner, being the perfect host, having the perfect day...?
People want to spend time with us for us, not to attend a perfect event. A great Christmas dinner is more about the company that the food and drink. A gift is a token, not the be all and end all. It's all about the thought.
This painting is of a walk I took in Cumbria just over a year ago. No, it wasn't a perfect hike. I didn't get to the top of the fell. My husband didn't either. But we had a really lovely day. I enjoyed sitting on the side of the fell painting and, because I did that, a passing walker bought the smaller version of this painting before it was even dry!
Sometimes great days are even better that "perfect" ones!
