He had been standing there for twenty minutes, just watching people come in and out, ordering and chatting and he felt so abnormal it was disappointing. The looks he got as he stood there made him duck his usual overconfident head, tugging long sleeves down in the summer with bandaged fingers. He was close to the counter but not enough to be asked for a order made, so it was alright to be awkward and a bit tense, right? Someone earlier had asked if he was alright, and he had squeaked, dropping the money in his hands and scrambling to pick it up again and shrinked away until the person left. So here he was, nervous and staring at the menu and just as he mustered up the courage, he walked into someone and jumped back. Christ. "Sorry. Sorry. G-Go ahead."
