It’s complicated.
Advertising is like a relationship status labeled it’s complicated. Sometimes I feel like I’m bipolar over the love and hate for it. On one side I’m over–the–moon in aw at how intelligent and amazing it is, and then sometimes you see these ads that make you face–palm and question your faith in humanity. Really, what it comes down to is that it’s a vehicle for communication and the outcome depends on who’s driving. Maybe as new designers enter the field, those face–palm ads will become less and less, and the mass media can start appreciating advertisements for their true magic.
These two emotions depicted here pretty much sums up how I feel about advertising.
