With only a month from departure, I thought I’d try some Thai food for the first time 🐟

We Made It!! 🇹🇭

We finally made it! It is currently Sunday May 20th at 9:38pm. After a 16hr flight from New York to Hong Kong, China and another 3hr flight from Hong Kong to Chaing Mai, Thailand! The long flight wasn’t too bad until we started to make our descent and I experienced some nasty motion sickness (HUGE s/o to the flight attendant who held my hair back). After going through customs and claiming our luggage in Chaing Mai, the Loop Abroad staff greeted us with necklaces of Jasmin. It is Thai tradition to present guests with a necklace made of jamsin flowers (similar to recieving a lei in Hawaii)! They smelled heavenly!!

Once we got to our hotel, we had orientation, learned a couple words in Thai, and had a crash course on Thai culture! There’s about 25-30 other students who came on trip and I’ve meet girls from Atlanta, Florida, Connecticut, and even Canada!

Tomorrow my group starts at the elephant nature park! We will be there until Saturday and then we will spend next week at the animal rescue kingdom! Can’t wait to interact with some amazing animals and also practice some veterinary skills! 🐘

All snuggled in at my hotel room in New York City! Heading to bed early so I’ll be ready for our 16hr flight tomorrow morning!!

Packing Galore

It is 0036 and I am almost finished packing for Thailand! I have everything from four bottles of mosquito repellent to my new Nikon camera! My flight from Cleveland to JFK leaves at 1524 tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited!! 🇹🇭🐘
