Because Obi-Wan has grown up, despite it all, despite every power in the universe screaming that he should not have had a chance — that he should have died at 14, at 16, and then countless times after. And now, he should be frozen in time with all of the rest of his family, petrified in a moment of shock, lips parted in unvoiced speech, a half step behind Qui-Gon. 

But he has been chosen, by something, by the Force or the spell or the universe’s sick sense of humor, to keep his flesh and blood and haunt this place like a ghost. The young man reflected in the pool is older while all his family is trapped in stone, time slipping away from them, years lost to this. 

Obi-Wan stands, and goes to tend the garden. 

It will soon be the Prince’s birthday, and the Emperor is due for a visit.

It’s also a sneak peak for a project which is still very much in the wip stage, hehehehe

😈 Is there anything you enjoy doing that you think your readers hate?

HM. I'll be honest, I've never thought about this. Possibly jumping around fandoms all the time? If someone is subscribed to me? But tbf I don't usually think about specific things people will hate about my writing, only that they might hate it as a whole.

OH. Some people really don't like the "short oneshot that isn't the whole story but yes it's a oneshot" thing? I've had some people ask if I've marked things complete by mistake. Nope, no mistake, I just only wanted to write this One Bit of a larger story.

Yuder stared at him like he was trying to decipher Kishiar’s motives. Perhaps Kishiar was presuming too much, crossing too many boundaries too early at this moment, but he was sure he would regret it if he didn’t, at the very least, offer.

Then, slowly, Yuder inclined his head. “I am not particularly good with names.”

Kishiar smiled at him. “It would’ve been rather unfair if you were capable in that aspect too.”

Fic search- since there seems to be several Star Wars fans here. I have read "Inherited Royalty" by planningconquest, "The Heir" by Spellcleaver, and my absolute favorite, "The Second Emperor" series by loosingletters.

I am wondering if there are any AUs out there where Vader kills Palpatine and puts one of his kids on the throne.
