There is a vile amount of Nazi-associated “Norse”/“pagan” material. So much so that it’s difficult to immediately identify. I look up things that feel suspicious, but with varying results (often made more difficult by translation difficulties). I want to do everything I can to identify that shit before unknowingly reblogging it. Definitely don’t want to have to rely on other people informing me of its origin/association after I’ve already given it a platform.

Is there a reference for Nazi-associated symbols/imagery/verbiage/etc?

Spending this morning reading the translated Homeric hymns. I do not work with any Hellenic deities, but I have always loved the writings. It is palpable, the love of ancient peoples for their gods.

embarrassingly, the first thing I’ve cooked for myself in 2023. I’ve allowed drugs to make me accept shirking basic self care tasks, at great detriment to my physical health. I’d like to start taking care of myself again, so I can be happier, make better choices, and experience new things.

today I miss the ocean

as a child I would stand ankle-deep on the shore, waiting for a wave to knock me off my feet. I remember tumbling over the sand, salt water filling my sinuses, wondering if it would ever end, holding my breath until I finally washed up and the wave receded, leaving me cold and plastered in sand and salt

looking back, that feeling was all I knew of letting go, letting chaos overwhelm me and take me over, and I submit to it until it decides it is done. I miss losing control like that. Waves that can do that to my adult body would probably kill me at this point.
