Day 8: Montréal After breaking camp, we started heading northwest towards the border. Before officially crossing over, we visited a small library called The Haskell Free Library and Opera House which was intentionally constructed on the border line. No passports were required, you just have to leave from the same side you entered! We crossed into Quebec shortly after and had a somewhat fun/somewhat stressful time trying to read the French road signs. After settling in at our hotel, we made our way into town for a quick snack of poutine. The architecture in Montréal took my breath away. Old French styled churches seemed to pop up out of nowhere in the middle of the city. The L’Oratoire Saint-Joseph is a must see regardless of your religious beliefs. It takes a lot of stairs to get to the top but is definitely worth it (the church is modernized with indoor escalators if the stairs are too much). A lot of the area was unfortunately under construction, but everything was still beautiful and accessible. We ended our day walking around downtown, which once again had gorgeous churches and statues that seemed out of place in the most wonderful way. Montréal has a spectacular charm and I wish we would’ve had more time to enjoy it. The next morning we were off to Toronto - more on that to come! . . . . . #montreal #canada #quebec #montrealcanada #loratoiresaintjoseph #loratoiresaintjosephdumontroyal #loratoire #montroyal #saintjoseph #churches #church #statue #frenchcanada #french #travel #travelblogger #travelphotography #architecture #roadtrip #adventure (at L'Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxlqMqdhMP3/?igshid=jgrjkhzsbgzt
