“I’m home,” Julia called out as she came through the door of their apartment, shutting it behind her and placing her shoes on the floor right next to the doorway. Walking further, she smiled as her boyfriend came into view. “Hey there, handsome,” she greeted, coming up to him and pressing a kiss to his lips. “How was your day?”

Julia had woken up without Lorcan beside her in bed. This wasn’t unusual - he usually woke up before her - but she had found herself missing him in the moments after she woke. Grabbing a blanket, she wrapped herself up and padded her way, barefooted, into the kitchen where she could hear him moving around. She came up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist, the blanket now wrapped around the two of them. She kissed his shoulder lightly. “Come back to bed,” she urged, her voice laced with slight amusement.

Julia had a slight limp as she walked, her sprained ankle only causing her some mild discomfort now that she had been to the healers. She hadn’t asked them to truly fix it, it would heal on its own over time. She bounced up to Lorcan with a smile on her face, wrapping her arms around his neck and wrapping her fingers in the hair at the base of his neck. “Are you hungry?” she asked, raising an eyebrow in question. “I’m craving something salty.” // @lorcanxscamanderx​

🍸 🍹 for Lorcan

The first time that Lysander noticed it, was on their fifth birthday. 

The twins always had their birthday parties together, obviously, mostly because they shared the same friends. The Weasley and the Potter clans came together to celebrate the two of them, maybe with a few other people sprinkled in to make it less repetitive. 

Lys had been hiding away, tucked nicely in the corner of the bedroom that he shared with Lorcan, waiting for Dominique and her siblings to arrive. They were running late for reason that had been forgotten to him now, but he didn’t care much for everyone else. His brother was mingling, much like he always did, and laughing and playing with everyone that had already arrived. 

He had just shifted into a more comfortable position when his father came storming in, obviously looking for him. His father didn’t get mad often, his mother never at all, but he could tell that he was agitated by the way he looked around the room impatiently. When he spotted Lys, hiding away in the corner, the young boy cowered slightly. He was definitely mad. 

“Where have you been?” He asked, his voice low enough that the people at the party wouldn’t hear. He stepped forward, reaching down to grab his arm. “These people are here for you and your brother. You need to say entertain them.” 

In his five year old mind, he couldn’t understand why he had to do anything expect wait for Dominique, but he fought against his father’s grasp anyway, which only tightened on his arm more. 

“Why can’t you be more like your brother?” His father asked harshly, and that only made Lysander stop. Rolf Scamander tried to tug him onward, but the little boy would have nothing of it. Rolling his eyes, his father shook his head, muttering under his breath how he wished he had two Lorcans. Lysander didn’t say anything while he left the room, closing the door and leaving the noises of the party to be muted by the wood of it. 

Lysander shrunk back, and he tripped over a box of toys that had been left in the middle of the room. He curled up as he fought back tears, realizing for the first time that Lorcan was the one that they wanted, the one they loved more than him. Realizing that he was just the second best, despite his best efforts. 

He didn’t even get up when he heard Dominique apparate with her parents into the foyer. Didn’t even respond when he heard her call out his name. She was the only one that ever searched for him first when Lorcan was around. Lorcan would always be who everyone wanted.
