Ciarn’s entire family was killed by hunters in 1983, or so he thought. There was only one survivor, his ten year old niece, Findabhair. She was left injured and near death, but was found by a hiker and ultimately saved. However, the trauma of it all had left her pretty broken. She left the area as soon as she was strong enough and eventually met up with another loner when she was about 14 and she married him at 18.
When she 19, she had her first child, Lorcan. Three years later, Tristan was born. But, Findabhair’s mental health continued to deteriorate to the point that when Tristan was five, she tried to drown him. Lorcan was the one that pulled his little brother from their mother. That had been the final straw for the boys’ father and he left them all.
Lorcan became over protective of Tristan and took most of the abuse from their mother. This lasted until the boys were aged 19 and 16 and only stopped when Fin passed away.
Because of all of this, Lorcan does not trust women easily and Tristan is terrified of women with strong personalities.
While Lorcan will eventually warm up to most women, Tris only feels safe around soft spoken and often shy women.
