A great song by a talented up and coming artist.
As you all know, i love to represent the Canadian artists, and the Weeknd is one of Canada’s best creations. His new take on the classic formula of pop music creates extremely catchy beats that seem to have a lot more depth than the stuff you hear everyday. His voice is so unique, and the way he uses it is really striking. A couple other songs i like by him are “The Hills” and “Earned it”.
The Arkells are a band really close to home for me, and i always love when a Canadian band starts to get more attention. I like this song because it puts a romantic spin on alt-pop, its fun and catchy. I appreciate how The Arkells’ lyrics shape this image of a modern day gentleman, who gives you his coat, and sends you home with your friends at the end of the night. This is some really great music for hosting a dance party with your friends. A couple other songs i also love by them are “Come to Light” and “Leather Jacket”.
From the minute i heard “I Wanna Get Better” i was hooked, and i knew the Bleachers were more than a one hit wonder. They are a rising star in the world of indie music, and i can’t wait to hear what they come up with next. The fact that it started out as a secret solo project of Jack Antonoff, on time off from Fun. Makes it that much better. His music is like the stuff you hear from Fun, with a little more of an alternative/ rock and roll vibe. I love how all of the members of Fun. do great things together, and completely different, but equally great things as solo artists, with no love lost between them,
Panic! at the disco may have been an emo favorite ten years ago but there more recent stuff strikes a cord with me. It emanates a sort of haunting brilliance, and is extremely catchy. Another one of my favorites by them is This is Gospel.
