AWOL Monarch

☾♔♚☽ Oh, he was angry.
Then again, what did he expect? Besides this one time — the Third had been continuously disappearing from his duties and going into seclusion. Well, actually, he had first made plans accordingly to handle most matters that would occur in his absence — he may be irrational sometimes, but not as much as a certain other unreliable monarch that he knew. No matter the little...troubles that came up for him to deal with personally, Lest never once forgot his place and duties as a Third Progenitor.
Most likely, Urd’s anger stemmed from simply his lack of presence. A King had to be present at all times to represent his country, after all. And...it would show him some decency had Lest at least left a message on his whereabouts, instead of just promptly disappearing. He knew that the Second trusted he wouldn’t ever be so unreliable to abandon his duties, but doubt would forever linger.
It was better to be safe than sorry.
“No amount of apologies nor excuses that I can come up with would pardon my actions — nor do I plan to do any of those. You should know me well, Lord Geales. Whatever punishment you decide to assign to me, I will accept without hesitation. I’m no coward that flees from my post. I knew very well what would happen if I did what I did, and yet I’ve still returned.”
He finally knelt down on one knee before the Second, his head bowed.
The worst that the Second could do was nothing close to death or execution, not even the Sunlight Torture — he was a Third, after all, and what set him apart from Krul was...at least, for the most part, he dared not to keep any secrets that dangerous from his brethren. Or at least, the other higher-ups he tolerated. Urd should know that very well too.
It’d be better for him to suggest punishment for himself, than explain to the Second Progenitor the reason for why he did what he did.
If he would even bother asking or listening, that is.
