Students flocked to the silent disco, the Wisco Disco.
Revelry stepped up its game this year by presenting “Wisco Disco,” an area where drunk concert-goers could dance their ass off and look ridiculous to everyone walking by.
Entering the roped-off area, I was handed a pair of old school headphones that I naturally turned up to full volume. At the front of the “dance floor,” a DJ wildly broadcasted dance music, which could only be heard by people in the area through the headphones.
Artist CrashPrez jammed out with fellow discoheads.
While dancing to crazy electronic music seems fun, the real fun was the dirty, disapproving looks from people walking by who couldn’t hear the music. You could almost read the lips of adult couples on the terrace saying “Is this what the kids are doing these day? However, when a group of high school students taking Prom pictures walked by staring, you could see them smiling and probably thinking, “Wow, I want to be a Badger.” Now, doing the robot and stanky leg with some great friends while looking like an idiot may be fun. Watching frat guys get down to dubstep may even be fun as well.
Ah, yes, everything was fun and games until I started dancing with my professor. Then it got even better. Now, if that wasn’t on someone’s bucket list, go ahead and add it now.
