Today ia maundy thursday, a day to remember Christ. Cause this is the day that lord supper was insituted and as well jesus prayed for us in the garden of gethesme. For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Let us remember that the body and the blood be a remembrance of what christ did for us as we remember his death and proclaim his risen life! Hallelujah! #lordsupper #faith #christian #worship #bodyandblood #communnion #bibical #rejoice
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
We might talk about all the different ways of speaking of the ‘presence’ in regards to the Lord’s Supper. But it’s most important to keep in mind that:
“The purpose, as St. Gregory of Nyssa well knew, is that that we be changed into the body of Christ. The ultimate reality, the ultimate purpose is our change, not that of the elements. Verse 16 of 1 Corinthians 10 gives way to verse 17. When the Spirit, through Word and sacrament, changes us to become like Christ—when we are taken up into his immortality, and into the love and unity of his body—it is then that we can say that heaven and earth are truly in the process of becoming one.”
