For your Outlast question. Mount Massive wasn't always run by Murkoff, it was operating on it's own for many years before being closed down and then reopened by Murkoff. The female ward was left over from when it wasn't operated by Murkoff. It's in such disrepair because clearly Murkoff isn't using the building as an actual asylum so why bother fixing up places that will never be used. Some parts are being repaired, you see evidence of that in the admin block, but due to the negative reaction-
- that women seemed to have with the Engine it doesn't make sense to keep them on campus. Even the female staff were fired that had no interaction with the Engine at all. However, there are sound clips of female scientists and a female voice over the loudspeaker in Whistleblower, which were either mistakes or the team was running low on voice talent. There's a document written by a female scientist as well, if I remember right, and then Helen seems to be a high up. But in general, no women.
