I don’t really question why people say I am cursed anymore.

Three lives, one by one. Fate had stated that these three lives, wrapped in darkness, wrapped in Void, had to fall to the arrows that I wielded. That they were corrupted, shattered the path, and it was my duty to set the cards straight.

I cannot for the life of me say why, why the thing tied to my soul, wrapped in light, screamed so hard against the darkness. All I knew is that she was hungry. And that she was a monster.

The dreams come faster. I found myself lost to the blinding radiance, more and more. My light, once my greatest strength, and now, now it burns me from the inside.

The love of my life is gone. Jayko, that beautiful redheaded idiot who didn’t know how to say goodbye. Who wanted one last dance. Now he burns against my neck, clicking against her last gift.

I miss them both. The silence is deafening. The screams get louder. And I badly miscalculated. I didn’t realize how much it would hurt to be alone, surrounded by friends.

In the time where I needed to stay strong, to keep moving forward, I faltered. I gave up, on coins not mine to spend.

I feel bad for the shadowy oracle. He and I barely knew each other, yet we see eye to eye. I run from my own tormentor. He runs towards his, in a bid to outwit. He dives, hand in hand, foot ahead, through ropes and bounds and leaps, only to try and come out ahead, with a smile on his face.

I can see why the Thespian loves him so.

(I know that smile, warm and sharp, soft to the ones he loves. Oh he reminds me so much of my knight. My Batu. I miss her. I miss them all.)

And yet, I ran from my tormentor. But maybe I was simply running from myself. I ran, ran to her, ran from her. But honestly? Was I really running?

(i wasn’t. after he was gone, i was ready to run away. and with my foolishness, i hurt more than i thought. i can only hope that my friends will forgive me for my folly)

It took me a while to realize I needed to stop running.

I will not be the reason why my friends are lost to the light. Not anymore.

And if I lose my gift, only for a moment, only for a little time, then so be it. So be it.

Artemis said that we are most brilliant when pushed to our limits. I am pushed to mine. But this time, I get to turn the cards on her.

I was never really one to die lying down.

So let see how she likes that.
