closed starter for loren lillegard ( @lorenlillegard ) -> tidal wave music
Loren's the first person Goobie lays eyes on when they open the door of Tidal, and for a moment they allow themselves the briefest belief in fate.
See, rejection and Goobie don't tend to live in the same orbit, at least in terms of their sexual pursuits. It's rare to find a girl who doesn't want to go home with them, if only because they're choosy about who they approach to begin with; a calculated risk that more often than not turns out in their favor. It's not like it doesn't happen, and Goob's dealt with plenty of bar flirtations that go nowhere, but slimming the playing field to keep those kind of interactions rare is their forte.
Halloween, however, had been it's own special kind of Hell - something they should've expected, given the holiday.
An evening with the beautiful bat-girl had just begun (and with a very promising start) when it was cut short by a puking girl in the bathroom - one Goobie had seen outside earlier and hoped to never see again. What started as a brief dance break (Goobie off to the bathroom and Lore off for more drinks) turned into a total halt as Goobie, disgusted, had to head straight home when their cargo pants turned into a canvas for Puke-casso's freshest work.
No numbers or goodbyes exchanged meant Goobie's chance with the elegant bat was over. Except maybe Aurora Bay had other plans - maybe Goobie didn't have to take the L after all.
"Y'know, if this were some cheeseball movie I wouldn't be able to recognize you without the mask on." Goobie slides up beside Loren, leaning against a box of records. "Glad that's not real. I was getting worried I'd never see the best dancer in Aurora Bay again."
