If your Tyrells could go anywhere else, where would they go?

Honestly, Melara would never depart from Highgarden. She idolizes/romanticizes that place far too much to even think about setting her foot out of it. No place compares to her home, not old Valyria, not Oldtown etc etc nothing at all could compare to the beauty of it.

And that's a tragedy too as once she comes to Kings Landing due to many reasons she never sees her home ever again not even after the war ends 🙁.

Lorent is different from his daughter, however. He does love his home obviously but not with the same intensity as Melara. If he wasn't so duty bound to his family and due to his place as heir to Tyrell name he would have either stayed in king's landing or moved to Vale. KL more so as a youth when his fondness for Alicent clouded his mind and could not be parted from her for long. As for Vale, he visited it a couple of times to see his mother's family and fell in love with it immediately. There was something in that place that drew him in, he doesn't know if it's the cousins whose company he enjoyed far more than ones from his father's side, the cold air nipping at his cheeks or great opportunity for hawking. Lorent would have gladly took his family and moved there.

As I'm currently focused on hotd I'll split the ask and do both lorent and melara

🍒 What kind of things do they expect from their relationships? Does this differ between platonic relationships and romantic ones? Is your OC “demanding” or a doormat? What kinds of things do people expect from them in a relationship? Melara expects overwhelmingly a lot from any relationship be it platonic or romantic. Oh my girl is demanding lmao god help you if you're in a relationship with her. Perhaps people will expect the same things she preaches.

🍊 What is your OC’s favourite meal? Snack? Dessert? Drink? Any reasons behind this besides liking how it tastes? She has a sweet tooth so anything sweet would always be her first choice, it would also include drinks as she favors arbor gold over any other wine.

🧡 Who is your OC’s favourite person? Why is this person the top of their list and have they actually met them (an idol or rolemodel or celeb can be someone’s favorite after all!). As cheesy as it sound Melara's favorite person is her father lmao. She always thought that he understood her in a way nobody could.

😊 What can make your OC smile even when they’re feeling down? What cheers them up and makes everything feel better for them? Is your OC genrally a happy person and do they enjoy making others smile? What about your OC makes others happy? surprisingly it's the little things that make her truly happy, for examples listening Helaena rambling on anything, walking through the garden or a sweet tart . I wouldn't say she's a happy person but she does tend to smile no matter, as for making other people smiles she does pride herself in knowing that she brightened someone (obviously she won't seek a person to comfort/make smile but if they were talking to her she'll try).

🍐 What is your OC’s mentality? Are they overall positive? Negative? A bit of both? Describe their thought patterns and reasoning behind their choice making! Lorent has always seen the world in a grey light, he always tried to analyze situation and weight in all possible outcomes.

🍇 Day or Night? Sun or Rain? Summer or Winter? Night, simply because he loves watching the stars. Rain and winter, reach is quite a warm place and it's a blessing to him when the temperature lowers at least a bit.

💗 What would your OC say is their best feature? Why? What do their friends / family / lover(s) / people they know think is their best feature and why? Lorent would say his best features are his eyes, the famous tyrell greens. While to other people his best feature is his smile, no matter what was hidden behind the pearly whites it would always seem warm and welcoming.

Okay so at the begging Lorent and Alicent are betrothed to each other. Politically it may not seem like the smartest arrangement as Otto is a second and there is a chance that Hobert may have a daughter but Lorent's father and Otto we're childhood friends and they were both part of small council so it would be a good thing to have an ally in court.

With both of their fathers being in court, there was no chance of not bumping into each other so they decided to see what each other was like and to at least form some kind of friendship. At the start they went along swimmingly, they shared a lot of interest and mindset (suffering to fulfill their duty lmao) there was no doubt that the marriage would be promising maybe not in love but in friendship. However, the more time they spend together, love seemed to blossom (at least for Lorent) and he was honestly excited for the marriage now.

Unfortunately with his father's death (and queen Aemma's), the marriage date was pushed back which unknown to Lorent that time was being used to win a much better match. Now idk how he's gonna find out that the betrothal was finally broken, might make Otto tell him/send him a raven or have him hear it when Visery's announces it. Once he heard the news he was crushed and angry, not only did he break the betrothal not long after his father's death, insult his house (Otto being a second son and breaking it was an even bigger insult) but he took away his chance at a happy marriage filled with love.

Idk what I'm gonna do with them later on as he leaves court once he marries and they can't interact much, but he does visit a couple of times because his daughter is there and despite the hostility between Lorent and Otto he does remain on good terms with Alicent. His love for her remains and once the war starts despite his best judgment he declares for team green.
