“i knooooow,” cordia whined miserably as she sat in the infirmary, with a just-patched arrow wound in her shoulder. 

she’d been running through the forests near the monastery this morning, just to feel the earth beneath her paws and the wind in her fur when she’d been shot by hunters. it wasn’t exactly uncommon for taguel to be mistaken for simple animals, and...even when it wasn’t intentional, it was usually still fatal, as their transformations were not entirely magical; there was a physical aspect to it as well, making transforming when injured much harder.

but, cordia was alive. and she mostly owed it to lorenz, who, in a miraculous twist of fate, had been on one of the paths through the forest, and came to her aid once he’d spotted her. once the threat of the hunters was out of the way, she’d been able to pull herself back into human form, draining as the transformation had been.

“professor manuela’s gonna tell me i’m not allowed to transform and i’m stuck like this for at least two weeks now too,” cordia continued, resting her head in her hand. she let out a sigh, and found her eyes drawn back to her companion. a small smile found it’s way to her face despite everything, and she said in a softer tone, “thanks- for today. if you hadn’t stepped in, i don’t know if i could have gotten out of that in one piece.”

oh, i agree! i think i’ve only gotten their c support so far, where she first finds out abt his poetry, but i rlly like the idea of her being a mentor figure to him! i mean, she kind of already is, being a professor, but. you know what i mean. her encouraging him to keep going and perform is good content!
