Mass Effect Canon Characters
Repeat after me: Having heterosexual or heteroromantic characters is not boring or lame. Every muse is different and experiences love different or sexual attraction.
Lorik Qui’in, Synthetic Insights Adminstrator
"A map to a one man maze that never sees the sun"
Lorik Qui’in Past
Lorik Qui'in, born in 2128 on the Turian homeworld, is the only child of two rather successful business people. Like any other turian he also received military training but not for long since he kind of felt he didn't belong there. With the age of 20 he began to study in the more bussiness way like his parents. He graduated from one the few turian bussiness schools on Palaven. Lorik worked in a few branches until he settled to leave Palaven. In his next years he worked on the Citadel for a short time and Thessia since the asari had really good branches.
As for the Relay 314 Incident, he heard about it but never took part in it, he wasn't military at this point and currently working somewhere else. He kind of shrugged it off, but he was curious about this new species. Not many years after this, he began to learn more about humans – he knew that his own species could sometimes be really strict.
Ten years prior to the events he began to work for Synthetic Insights, at first as a normal worker until he rises in ranks and became the manager of this branch. Noveria was a place full of corrupted and wrong people. Lorik tried to remain on top of them, not trying to let himself get corrupted. Sometimes he would look away if someone was doing extra work but he would never accept money to move things faster.
Since he found humans so interesting and wasn't opposed of being closer to other aliens, he began to see a human female while he began to work in Synthetic Insights. This caused a massive furor even though the First Contact War was decades ago. Their relationship didn't last very long but he wouldn' mind going for a human again.
With the new administrator of Port Hanshan, Bel Annoleis, the problems began. He saw some people accepting money from him to work in secrety on something. People were getting inspected more closely when they wanted to get to Port Hanshan and worst of all this guy didn't seem to like Lorik. The first months he tried to be friendly and polite, but this soon changed when he wanted to get access to Lorik's dates and files in his office. Lorik didn't know why but this salarian rubbed him the wrong way. So he investigated a little bit – in a little illegal way – by sneaking into the administrators office and finding something rather interesting.
Sadly some of the people Annoleis was paying had seen him and told the administrator, he found himself in a rather unpleasant situation and Annoleis was forced to close his office – official. He knew he wanted to find the evidence Lorik had gathered. Accusing him of being corrupted himself, the manager of Synthetic Insights spent his time in the hotel of Port Hanshan. This happend nearly 2 days before Desolas had arrived on Noveria. Lorik spent half his time either figuring out how to get the evidence away from his office or drinking. The latter was more satisfying for him.
AfterShepards interference with the local politics on Noveria, Lorik had the evidence against Annoleis back – with complaining about blood on the floor in his office. He managed to report the corruption of Bel Annoleis and became the administrator of Port Hanshan.
When Cerberus began to move towards Noveria, Lorik kind of ignored them at first but soon they were making a rather unneccessary riot, so he was forced to excuse them politely off his port, which ended rather unpleasant with a few dead Cerberus troops. They soon moved away from Port Hanshan much to his satisfaction.
The attack of the Reapers kind of brushed Noveria, there were even a few strugglers but no real Reaper ships. But he would watch the news everyday to see how his homeworld was holding up against them. When the war ended, for which he was rather grateful, he started to build Port Hanshan up, since he had no time to do it when Cerberus finally left.
