Lost Rewatch: 2x17 Lockdown
...well there’s a very easy joke I can make here, isn’t there?
I’ve literally just gotten the pun in the title. Wow, I am a moron sometimes
Uggghhh, goddamn Anthony Cooper
And here we see Ben’s plan start to unravel
Ben’s plans often look completely sound on the surface, but then completely fall apart when you start to think about it
First off, why the hell did he go himself? I think I’ve already said that, but it’s still ridiculous
Second, on sort of the same line, why not send a woman, who calls herself ‘Jennifer Gale’? That solves literally every problem that arises at the end of this episode
Also, as Ben is a little psychopath, he probably wouldn’t trade Walt for whoever went in his place - maybe Bea - so you won’t have to lose the magic child
Wait, I thought everyone hated Sawyer now? Why did Hurley agree to play poker with him?
Hello Nadia!
It might just be that I’m sadistic, but why doesn’t John wait until Anthony has gone, then take all the money?
So, we really needed more scenes like this poker scenes. No stupid romantic squabbling, just Kate, Jack and Sawyer bonding, so when they start to fall out later I actually... care
Locke, come on, you would never have been able to get under that gap in the blast door
Also, he seems remarkably not in pain the whole rest of the episode, for someone who’s having his legs crushed
The safe deposit box is #1516
For God’s sake, Locke. Just tell Helen what’s going on!
So ‘Henry’ falls unconscious just as the timer starts beeping, so with four minutes left, and yet he wakes up, manages the climb through the grating the the computer room and push the buttons mere seconds after the time is up?
Yeah, I’m definitely with Helen on this one
So why exactly does the room go blacklight? We never see it happen again, despite the clock ticking over again and the blast doors coming down again
Wait, so Jack has forgiven Kate for the stuff during The Hunting Party (not that she did anything wrong)? When did that happen?
Wow, Ben really underestimated Sayid. The dedication of that man
Overall Review:
Hey, you know another thing that doesn’t really go anywhere? The Blast Door map. Which makes this whole episode kind of pointless. Sure, it’s fun to start to see Ben and Locke interact properly for the first time, but aside from that... all it does is explain why Helen isn’t in the picture anymore, and I feel minimum sympathy towards Locke for that
Overall Rating: 4.5/10
