Winner of the December 2016 monthly illustration vote on my Patreon - Hachikuji Mayoi from Bakemonogatari. I wanted to recreate a little bit of the show's style in how it uses red lines instead of black ones and very minimal backgrounds, but as this is traditional and the show is digital and uses a lot of gradients, this is the best to my ability at the moment with the tools that I have. I wish the scanner didn't degrade the colours whenever I scanned these. It always looks much more vibrant in person. I made a mini FMV for Mayori Hachikuji since I recently watched S2 EP20... I tried so hard not to cry in front of my brother because I'd probably get teased and his teasing is annoying.

Mayoi has been my favorite character since the beginning, her story is on the sad side but that didn't stop me from dotting on her.

At first I had wanted to place the remixed version of Spring Day (BTS) in it but I was limited on what I could do with audio so I left the Parting instrumental from the clips.

Struggles aside... I'm happy with how it turned out. ♡

GODZILLA IS MISSING

Over Golden Week I had to go back to the states, and then out of prefecture, for a little over two weeks. During this time I put my snails in the care of my favorite local cafe, but when I returned, I was informed that my beloved Godzilla had gone missing. We don’t know if he escaped or was snailnapped by an enterprising young child, but there is a 500 yen reward for his safe return.

Godzilla is a コウロマイマイ, or “Wax Tree Snail”. It’s a very rare type of snail that can only be found in very specific regions of western Japan. Godzilla’s shell is around the size of a 500 yen coin, with a body around the length of a woman’s thumb. The shell is white with a brownish-red opening and some coloration on the back, while Godzilla’s body is white with one black stripe down the back. Along with very long, thin eyes, Godzilla rocks a super-stylish mohawk.

I miss Godzilla dearly and hope someone brings him home soon.

GUYS MY SNAIL IS MISSING. I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND WHILE I WAS FEEDING MY FISH I NOTICED IT WAS GONE :( i’ve looked under the hood of the tank, under the ornaments, in the filter, and even around my room and on the shelf the tank is on…pretty much EVERYWHERE and I can’t find him! if anyone has any ideas of where he might be please tell me!!! I don’t want him to die from being out of the tank for too long!!!!

Can I just point out how fucking lost that one golden snail was in LoZTW? That fucker got so lost it WENT BACK IN TIME. How badly do you have to fuck up to where you get lost in the past? My god snail. Get your shit together.
