Lost Sounds - Energy Drink & the Long Walk Home (2002)

I'd apparently downloaded this song long ago, but hearing it again had me absolutely captivated. Lost Sounds was a Memphis synth punk garage rock group led by the late great Jay Reatard and Alicja Trout.

Here's hoping that Spacecase Records will have stronger presence on Bandcampin the future. I'd probably post a lot more from them. Currently, there are only 4 releases on Bandcamp - this amazing 7" from Optic Sink (Memphis, Tennessee). It sounds like a perfect alliance of Memphis garage and Australian post-punk. Think Eddy Current Suppression Ring crossed with Lost Sounds.

Speaking of Lost Sounds, one of Spacecase Records first 7"s was a split featuring Alicja Trout. And just recently, Spacecase reissued 100 Flowers' (former Urinals, future Trotsky Icepick) debut 7".

There's just so much to like about this label. On top of it, the prices are fair and reasonable.
