Wanted to apologize for the quietness on my side:
My computer crashed about a month ago and I'm just getting back to the gist of things on my new comp. It didn't so much as crash as the hand inside the hard-drive got stuck out of park. Though I tried to fix it myself (I've worked with computer hardware since high school) but that recovery would require a lot more than just putting the hand back in park.
Anyway, I hope to have more stuff up soon! Thank you for still sticking around!
Wanted to say hello to all of my new followers!
Missed 150 follower mark since the past few days 20 people have followed me so I'm now closer to 160. Just wanted to say hello to all of my new followers and I hope you have a magical day!
My thoughts on Frozen in Norway's Pavilion
I've been reading a lot of the current protests, so I'm going to skip the "Norway's Outdated, but still fun/It doesn't fit the theming" and I want to talk about Frozen and its longevity.
I'd like to begin by admitting I am a fan of Hans Christian Anderson's work, I enjoy his work over most other fairy tales for his fantastical worlds and character he can bring to something like...a fir tree, the neck of a bottle, and a shadow. In such a short, he can bring out so much life that it feels more like a novel and it has a very timeless quality. I bring this up is because it pains me to say that I feel Frozen is overrated, no matter how much I tried to like the appeal of this movie as a HCA fan. I would even call it a fad (Highlighted to emphasize later importance).
When I associate Frozen with the word fad and being implemented at EPCOT Center, the main thing that comes to mind is the Journey into YOUR imagination (and it's successor), Test Track, and Ellen's Universe of Energy. Why? Because they all suffer from the dreaded 90s fad....TO THE XTREME!
The only one of the three aforementioned that had a chance was Test Track, because it was a "coaster" and something EPCOT needed desperately. However, I cannot attest as this ride got actual treatment, in fact, Test Track 2.0 is now my FAVORITE rides at Epcot because it managed to get a lot of the World of Motion feel updated in the queue , but still be a fast paced attraction. THIS IS EPCOT CENTER 21st CENTURY! The other two aren't so lucky, covered in 90s references and celebrities, old CGI (Figment being the scariest example), so on and what not.
But of course, why would ANYONE think these 90s rides are good today?! We know they're bad, LostCOT, don't preach to the choir, but Frozen did well at the box office and is generally loved by the public and children alike!!! Don't bash this movie or it's eventual ride, it may do well!!!! ....I would like to address one more lifeline to my case, and that is:
This attraction features one of Disney's most popular franchises of the early 2000s, and BOY is it still remembered and well liked. I loved this show as a kid! Never a day at college when a phone goes off with the Kim Possible ringtone....but that's just it: All of the fan's are grown up and not in Disney's "prime demographic." How many children from the ages of 2-11 year olds know what Kim Possible is now that it's out of syndicate in the United States? How many would even KNOW the attraction had ties to Disney Channel whilst it has barbie pop singers on air today?
Now, you may tell me, "But Kim Possible is a show! Frozen is a movie and therefore, much easier to pass around and watch" Yes, but this is where the word "fad" comes into play. Kim Possible I don't believe is a fad, but it acts relatively similar to one. Once it is out of syndicate, less and less people will be able to access the episodes and, in return, less and less people will be introduced to it, especially Disney'r prime audience of toddlers to tweens. This attraction (my opinions on it are pretty good, It does what it needs to do and gets families that aren't shoppers to the back of the World Showcase and not clumped in Future World) became less and less priority for younger families who had kids that were unable view Kim Possible and thus it was deemed "obsolete". Disney, in turn, went to Agent P, which will eventually suffer the same fate once Phineas and Ferb goes out of syndication for a few years.
Frozen I constantly see on the Disney side of tumblr and fanbases slowly getting criticized by more and more fans who once sang its praises. Of course, there are still some die hard fans, and I'll probably hissed at for calling it a fad, but does Disney REALLY think that it is wise to try and replace Norway this soon? I mean, how long did it take for the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast to get a place of their own?!?! Certainly long after they were considered classics! Perhaps....perhaps they DO know what they are doing.
I believe that Disney is doing this for one reason: To get as much money before the appeal tuckers out. If this is true, then I can only imagine one end product and that is that same 90s fad that EPCOT still has yet to leave in its past. It's just unfortunate that Maelstrom is the one place that will be stripped of its home and doomed to be replaced over and over by a new rising fad to get Disney more money and less timeless attractions.
Nearly to 150 followers and....
I try to compliment on all of the wonderful usernames I stumble across and favorite a few things from each blog (if it doesn't fit here, my normal blog) but there are just so many wonderful followers and cool usernames and blogs, I just had to tell you guys thank you for all the support and welcome to all of the new folks who have followed me!

New Blog smell! *heavy breath*
Mmmmm....Made it more like my slide bar/mobile setting. I'll be changing the icon soon, or at least making a new DF and Figment picture that matches the theme better. Any ideas for a good icon I should make? I'd also like some feedback on me blog. (Also, sorry ahead of time, the headings seem to be running into each other, and I can't seem to fix it with the little CSS/coding I know)
Thank you for your time!
