LostWorldRadio001a by Skatole Grudnick Via Flickr: Handbill created a long time ago for a Cable Radio Station, Lost World Radio. Glory of Cheese was the program. The name was stolen from a show on WGTB, it was renamed Radiolaria. LWR was reinvented as WWCF 88.7 FM, with Cove Mountain Educational Broadcasting. Way back in 1979 a bunch of music junkeys decided to smash the chains of boring radio with a radical new idea, Pay Radio, aka Cable Radio. It lived, it died, but has been reborn as Support For Radio Station WWCF 88.7 FM, with Cove Mountain Educational Broadcasting courtesy of Dirk DeVault. I found this clipping whilst cleaning the liter box, The studio was located in the 2nd floor of the former Custer Channel Wing Corporation at 1905 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland. I did a few programs for LWR including one with New Riders of the Purple Sage. The location is now roadside scrub brush. LWR eventually moved to Dagmar Hall, a once elegant hotel, now a flophouse for addicts, hookers, and ex-cons. www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004729905521
