This is a gathering ritual for witches of all kinds
All witches are different, even when like minded. Subtle differences make us as varied as the trees, as the flowers, as all the plants in the world. To come together, no matter our differences, to work towards a common goal and share our knowledge, is something that gives us great power.
What you will need
friend or two or three or however many you wish
Candles, incense, herbs, crystals, books, whatever each of you wishes to bring to the gathering, as a sharing of knowledge, that represents you and your craft (For example, I would bring Basil. Who’d have thought, right?)
A large space to work and talk and share
Music to set the mood of whatever the purpose of the gathering is
Food/ drinks/ snacks/ stuff for a party
this can also be informal, a party just to celebrate any holiday with your pagan and witchy friends. Bring food and drinks and music and games!
Formal Gathering
Prepare yourselves and the workspace. If it is outdoors, make sure that anything you are lighting (candles and incense) is in a safe place and won’t catch anything else on fire. If you’re casting a circle, do it before the others arrive or cast the circle with them when they arrive.
As you approach the designated space for the magical working or learning/ teaching, bring with you the object that represents you and your craft. Example: I would approach the space carrying several basil leaves and say “I, Basil, come to this gathering to share my strength and wisdom.” Continue the above for each person/ item, gathering them in the center of the workspace on an altar or table or just on the ground.
Once you are all gathered around the items, share whatever it is you wish to share. Tell the others the properties of your item/ magic/ shared wisdom.
Take notes, learn from one another. If you’re gathering to work a spell with the items you have brought now is the time to collectively raise the energy, call the elements, and focus on the spell.
Once the casting is complete, ground, center and clean up.
Now enjoy the informal part of the gathering. Order pizza or enjoy the snacks and food you brought with you.
*This is a very loose structure for gathering to perform any kind of ritual or group spell. Keep in mind I wrote most of these spells close to fifteen years ago when I was a bull headed teen who hung out with my friends in the park and drank and smoked and just had the most completely informal practice imaginable. To this day though, I use this as a basis for any magical/ spiritual gathering that I hold in my home.
Happy Castings and Happy Gatherings witches and pagans!
