☀️ a time my muse let yours take care of them.
Emily could count on one hand the amount of times she’d gotten wasted enough to throw up. Most of the time, she just drank wine until she was tiredly falling asleep rambling non-sense, but never quite like this. Tonight it had happened though, and she hadn’t even noticed the moment she overstepped the invisible boundary that kept being happily drunk from being sickeningly drunk. She absolutely hated throwing up, and when she was bent over the toilet, she wanted to cry. She managed to keep the tears back somehow, sinking back with heavy breathing and a sour taste in her mouth. Gentle hands were combing through her hair, and after a moment she slid down onto the floor to be able to put her head down in Lottie’s lap. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled, closing her eyes as she simply enjoyed the cool tiles underneath her body and her friend’s gentle hands making her feel better. She felt bad for ruining Lottie’s night like this, but she was grateful that her best friend was taking care of her. “I owe you one now,” she mumbled, leaning her forehead against her best friend’s stomach as she inhaled a deep breath.
🔥 a time my muse got caught doing something bad.
“Shit, shit, shit.” Emily whispered the word over and over again, trying her hardest to put away the shards of the vase she destroyed. She was pretty damn sure it belonged to Sloan, and it looked fucking expensive even when it was broken, so whether her roommate liked the thing or not – she felt incredibly guilty for dropping it. She winced when Lottie’s voice reached her ears; her friend had slept over and probably heard the loud shattering noise of the vase hitting the floor. Looking up at her friend, Emily shook her head a little. “Please don’t say anything,” she begged her, gesturing towards the broken pieces in front of her. “I have no clue if she likes the damn thing. Can you just – can you just help me put this away? If I’m lucky she might not notice.”
🍎 a time my muse felt safe with yours.
There were moments when Emily realized just how lucky she was to have Lottie Baker in her life. Throughout all the years they had been in each other’s lives, they had been there for each other through every high and low. To someone who had a hard time letting people in, that meant a lot. And she knew that in the whirlwind of everyday life it was easy to forget about how much they meant to each other. But while outside there was a thunderstorm howling and rattling on the windows, she felt incredibly safe in the arms of her best friend. Fingers holding onto the almost empty glass of wine in her hand, she smiled to herself as she turned her head to look up at the other blonde. “I love you. You know that, right?”, she asked, knowing that it was partly the alcohol talking. Not that she cared. It wasn’t a lie after all. “I love you, Lottie Baker. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” She certainly wouldn’t have a safe space to turn to, and that imagination was frustrating – she was happy she had found it in the blonde so many years ago.
