don't wanna sound too pretentious but (gets hit over the head with a brick, gets up) there's no way the yellowjackets would have kept on following the capitalistic and heterosexual based notion of monogamy... we mainly have a glimpse of what the notion of a family would be out in the wilderness when lottie says "our baby" about shauna's fetus BUT since taivan are the only established couple in the show i'm gonna talk about them. out in the wilderness we see them mainly subverting patriarchal notions and i have talked about it and can refer to you to mutual's equally as yj brainrotted as i am who have as well. but why wouldn't a natural progress of taivan coming out, tai bending the notions of femininity more, for example, to hook up with lottie? both of them have a deep connection with her. first van, who was one of the first of her disciples. even the ONLY solo interaction we have between them in the adult tl is an INSANE exchange of looks. van adores lottie in the wilderness. and BRINGS TAI TO HER. she becomes necessary for both of them, tai, who was skeptical at first says they can't kill lottie because they NEED her. now you're telling ME taivan didn't look at lottie from across the room and loved her weird and offputting vibes?

For your consideration: one-sided Lottie x Other Tai. A prophet and a goddess. Other Tai is the embodiment of the Wilderness: raw, authentic, in tune with the world around them; everything Lottie wants to be but stops being able to hear. Imagine Lottie purposely trying to bring Other Tai just to be connected to It, even for a moment. Imagine instead of Lottie being obsessed with Callie and dying in season three, she becomes devoted to Other Tai. Maybe even devoting herself to Van because at least that would satisfy the Wilderness, even if she’s cast aside in the process.
