La rostro pálido, quebradiza y descalza Sandie Shaw casi como antítesis de Dionne Warwick.
En casi todo menos en la voz, Sandie cantaba muy bien y su versión del “(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me” de Lou Johnson, ya estupenda de por sí, fue un monumento que rompió las listas británicas en noviembre de 1964, disparada directa al número uno.
“Kentucky Bluebird (Message to Martha)” -- LOU JOHNSON
Lou Johnson sure does expect a lot of this little bluebird. He wants it to fly all the way to New Orleans, find a woman who used to be named Martha but has since changed her name to something he doesn’t bother to share with the bluebird (and to track her down based on no more information than “she sings in some caf”), and then, once he’s accomplished all THAT, remember four verses worth of thoughts the singer wishes to impart to her.
No matter how diligent that bluebird is, I don’t think Martha’s going to be getting the message.
Luckily, Lou Johnson sings the song the only way someone having such a conversation with a bird really could: as though he knows all too well he’ll never see Martha again.
