The Will to Live is My Greatest Story
I'm Me'Shon La'Kair the one who writes about dreams, possibilities, countless mistakes, curiosities, and the reality in which I live and breathe. Born to a single mother in the Cajun Creole infused culture that surrounds my everyday life, and raised with a grandmother who shared the wisdom that cannot be learned in a classroom. Both women grooming me into the woman I am today and the woman I know I can be. Though the steps that got me here were the hardest nothing is going to stop the drive, motivation, and faith that keeps this fuse lit. Growing up without a father as many do was my reality, never did I see his face or hear his voice, but only thoughts that turned into words on pages to you.
Just as any other little girl I wanted to enjoy life be care free and simply have fun,but things changed and life happened. At 11 years old I was diagnosed with Epilepsy which is a brain disorder in which a person has recurring seizures. This changed my life forever no longer did I see life the same a new perspective was set in order, and I was strong enough to get through it. Everything became about my health medications, doctors, treatment, and the mental toll that it takes on a person. But still I was strong enough to get through it and that's exactly what I did.
I started writing everything I felt the good, the bad, the me that was changing from what I use to be. It was all written so everyone could see the thoughts that were finally free. After that I went to school got good grades and graduated from high school. I then went on to college and did the same and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing having God be my guide through it all.
Though God wasn't through with me yet and at 22 years of age I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes tears fell as I thought how much more could I take. So many obstacles but yet here I am still standing and after I wiped my eyes I realized just because I have epilepsy and diabetes doesn't mean life is harder for me, it just means I'm stronger than others. And from then on nothing has stopped me obstacles come and go but I never stop pushing, fighting, climbing to where I want to be in life, because everybody has a purpose and mine is to share my thoughts with you.
