In March, a very unique and very SPECIAL job came my way… I was asked to design a memorial plaque for a World War II veteran. Now, I have designed countless things in my life from advertisements, to program booklets, posters, books, logos, collages… but few were as special and/or important as this. Louis Yemc was deployed to France in 1944 and remained in the military until the early 1950s. Afterwards, he got involved with a small trucking company by the name of @macktrucks , which became what it is today thanks to Louie's innovation. Unfortunately Louie passed away in 2013, and I was never able to meet him. This became an even greater disappointment when his wife, @gdenlou , asked me to design and coordinate the plaque that would go on Louie's reserved space at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. To "step back in time" so to speak, create a modernized "thank you" for someone who fought in the 1940s, so that we could have freedom in the 2020s... nothing is more rewarding than this. Thank you Denise & Louie, God bless you both, and God bless America. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 #LouisYemc #LouieYemc #WorldWarII #WW2 #WW2Veteran #BouldierCity #SouthernNevadaVeteransMemorial #SouthernNevadaVeteransMemorialCemetery #Veterans #VeteransDay #BoulderCityMemorialCemetery #USA #Mack #MackTruck #MackTrucks #Honor #ThankYou #GodBlessAmerica #GodBlesstheUSA #Serve #Army #military #VeteransSupport #VeteransUSA #VeteransStrong #DeniseGavlakYemc #WorldWar2 #1940s #SomeGaveAll #VeteransWife (at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFVIqu3BYeQ/?igshid=qkrznv97gz4d
