“i can read your fortune, it says youre a nerd” w peter parker pls <33
“ooo look at this, pete. we can see into each other’s futures and stuff,” you told him while you flipped though another one of the books you’d found in strange’s library. you two were sent by tony to get something from him but he wasn’t anywhere to be found. two curious teenagers and a large sanctorum to explore was a wonderfully dangerous mixture.
“maybe we should look around for mr. strange some more. i’m getting a weird feeling from being in here,” peter warned you but you knew he was being a scaredy cat.
“is your peter tingle going off or are you just scared?”
“neither,” he huffed before sitting in the chair that sat by a table in the center of the room. you followed him and sat across from him.
“okay, give me your hand.” wearily, he reached out towards you and you turned his hand face up, examining the lines of his palm by tracing them with your fingertip. he let out a giggle at the tickle he felt before regaining his composure. after letting your eyes flutter closed, you had his hand between your own and took in a deep breath. “i can read your fortune, and… it says you’re a nerd.”
“really?” he perked up but you let out a laugh.
“no, i got that from my own intuition.” he shot you a playful glare while you pushed the book towards him. “i was just bullshitting because i don’t know what that stuff means but you probably do so do me.” you held out your hand for him to look at. you knew he’d need that much based on the pictures in the book. he took your hand in one of his as his eyes skimmed over the words.
“i don’t know what it says either,” he informed you, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
“can’t karen help with that?” you watched realization dawn on him as he pulled his mask out before slipping it on. he nodded his head along to whatever karen was telling him while he performed the spell.
“wait, what?” he mumbled to himself while dropping your hand but whatever was to be done was done. you tried to lift your hand off the table but the table came up with your hand as if it was nothing.
“peter, what did you do to me?”
before he could explain, strange walked into the room and you placed the table down abruptly. “hey…” you trailed off, trying to come off as if your hand wasn’t stuck to a table thanks to peter’s misreading. stephen went to speak when peter sneezed, purple energy emitting from his hands when he did. the adult in the room cocked his head to the side and raised a brow.
“y/n, pick up your hand,” he instructed and since you knew there was no way out of this, you did it as you brought the table along with you.
“show me the spell you were trying to do.” peter pointed to the page he read and stephen nodded his head knowingly.
“we were just trying to read each other’s fortunes and then this happened,” you tried to explain but you couldn’t really move from your spot.
“yeah, but someone read the wrong page and now your powers have been switched. have fun figuring that out,” he informed you both before stepping closer to the door.
“no, switch us back! i can’t do the purple wiggles she does and it’s not really easy to be a spider either,” peter begged while you shot him a glare.
“i’m afraid i can’t help to a degree,” stephen cut off the oncoming argument with his wisdom. “the person who cast the spell is the only one who can reverse it and it takes a lot of practice to reverse a spell. i’m surprised you even did it in the first place but until we can get peter trained to do that, you two have to help each other figure out your powers. parker, help her with the table and y/n, teach him to keep the purple wiggles contained, okay?”
you and peter both nodded before turning to each other. “ready to learn how to be a spider?”
“only if you’re ready to be a wiggler of all things purple.”
