season 3, episode 19 of the X-Files titled Hell Money has one the best group of guest stars throughout the show thus far, including BD Wong, Lucy Liu, and the legendary James Hong ! It takes on such an interesting representation of paranormal activity, (like many other episodes but not quite like this) specifically ghosts depicted within Chinese folklore, and the workings of the black market involving the illegal selling of body parts. The episode also briefly examines the hardships of Chinese immigrants within the US, more specifically, the lives of those individuals who find themselves trapped in the black market, unable to escape. it’s not often a sci-fi series demonstrates these very real social issues within the realm of the paranormal, so this is very interesting to see within the show, especially considering that this aired during the 90s. it is definitely one of the my favorite episodes.
