Oh, good one, we are in for a ride! Thank you so muuuch for the ask!
5. Once Upon a Time;
I have an emotional attachment to this series and is one one of the firsts before I knew what fandom is, thus why I am not 100% active about it but it is always rooting around somewhere in my brain.
It was the friends I didn't have back when I was younger since I was the type of kid who played alone and enjoyed it. I had few friends that didn't live nearby so I used to watch a lot of series in repeat in search for comfort and this was it.
4. My wife and kids;
By now you can and should presume I love family shows and you are just about right! This one is my go to whenever I feel too drained to search for something to listen to while I cook or do my nail, etc.
3. The Vampire Diaries;
OKAY! I will start by saying that I KNOW, OKAY? I KNOW! but I like the series less for the mainstream Damon/Elena & Stefan/Elena plotline and more for the Elena/Any Mikaelson relationships. Or for Elena solo or Elena & Katherine fanfictions or posts, etc. I do not follow the story that much - although, yes, one day I was a huge fan of both previously mentioned canon ships - and now I do it just for fun when I need to write something more loose and less intricate in which I have the world building set for me.
2. Doctor Who;
Y'all had it coming, shut up.
I binged watched Doctor Who on a pirate site in twenty-eight days non-stop (not even to sleep) in 2020 and have been on the pit ever since. It is what I was made for, has complex topics and world to explore and - although it does have its fights on fanbase - is a comforting place to be in, something lighthearted and heartbreaking at the same time.
For when you want to run from yourself.
1. Gilmore Girls.
This one is for you, mom, for all the times you implicated with me for watching it too many times and even let it playing while I slept. For the few episodes you watched with me. We never finished our marathon and I stopped where we stopped.
I don't think I will ever watch it again, if not for small scenes on YouTube but I watched it for four years straight nonstop and I think that was worth a lifetime. It is the show that will always have my heart and will remind me of the good times I had even when the times and situations made it difficult for me even to breath.
It was with me in my hardest days, even through grief, and I am grateful for it.
God I love the juxtaposition of Everyone Else and Mina in Dracula. The Demeter is like “Something is hunting us. We no longer go out alone. I fear mutiny.” meanwhile Mina’s out here talking about nice scenic spots and trying to get ghost stories out of old sailors
