Haven’t Been on Here in Forever!! My new band Love Pit has been doing great! We opened for Smile Empty Soul, Tantric, Gunshine, Sleep Signals, Hed(Pe) and citizen Kane.
The Love Pit
It seems when we’re down in love, everything else in our lives is at a low. If things aren’t right between my husband and myself, my world is wrecked. My production at work is low, my brain is jumbled, I can’t muster up the energy to complete my to-do lists, and I am hardly able to eat, unless my nutrition comes from chocolate donuts, or cookies and ice cream. In my mind, I know that we will eventually work things out and get back to the fun stuff, but the love pit sucks.
I appreciate the fact that no matter how bad it gets, God lets me know that it’ll be fine. I embrace the philosophy that everything happens for a reason, but I wonder, what is God preparing me for with these trying times? I know what my goals and dreams are, and some of the things that we go through could be directly connected to our growth to be able to handle our goals and dreams. Other things take a little stretch of the imagination in order for me to understand or accept them.
I’m glad that I’m still able and willing to love while I’m in the love pit. I refuse to give up and would rather fight the world than throw away this union. I know that marriage is God’s institution and if one tries to take advantage of the benefits of marriage without including the creator, they are in for a world of trouble. I think I’ll enjoy my snack and look forward to the love upswing.
Tell me, what do you do to cope when you’re in the love pit?
