      ❛  Oh,  don't worry  —let me show you.  ❛     𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓  𝐇𝐔𝐒𝐊  𝐎𝐅  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄   draws sated as her manicured hands reach to wrap around her steaming mug of coffee and drag it across the table,  toward  her  chest.  She hasn't slept,  but she's fresh off of a star-swept night with one of her dates  —her  only  date,  for the last handful of weeks.  That and a gram of cocaine.  Good night,  she'd say  —so good that she doesn't want to go to sleep,  doesn't want to go back to her lonely and sterile home.  So Donna winks as she reaches into the inside of her fur-lined coat,  drawing out a single-shot bottle of Bailey's Irish cream.  Cap  twisted,  shot  poured    ( ... )     They're sitting in one of the small booths at the   𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥  𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲   in Downtown Los Angeles,  a twenty-four hour diner that Donna preferred for their generous portions,  fat slabs of crispy bacon and polite wait staff.  

Madonna dips a silver spoon into the mug as she brings ceramic to mouth-level,  the lazy stirring of her spoon sounding a soft tinkle.  She flashes Jenny a little smile,  a shrug.  Her eyes are a little red,  but life still flushes her otherwise pale and limpid cheeks.  She  looks  happy. 

    ❛   —You should ask for your bacon extra crispy,  if you like that kinda thing.  It's crazy.   ❛   A soft giggle.  She sips at her steaming coffee,  appreciating the hot scald to her tongue.

i love designing characters whose behavior and personality exist and overlap even if sometimes its contradictory to who they are...

ophelia whose so self-loathing when all she wants in the world is to love and be loved. love is at the heart of everything she does.

she's a protector (and a martyr) but at the end of the day all she wants is a quiet calm life

she's fairly religious and wants to have faith in something, she tries to have faith in something, but cannot help feeling like there's nothing for her

iile whose the most at peace when she's alone on the water but her job that she's good at requires her to be extroverted and talk to people and convince them to buy her products

she enjoys spending time at taverns/gambling halls because it's a good way to let go of stress and she's good at bluffing and good at card games even if it's something she has negative associations with as well

she cannot resist a challenge, diving just 10 meters deeper, or seeing what's next around the corner

i just think characters that are multifaceted in a way that digs into and pokes holes into the other parts of who are are SO interesting and realistic to me
