Been watching a lot of cdramas lately, and every single one (bar a couple of historical ones) has mentioned periods, and has either the guy going and buying pads, or staying and looking after the woman during it.
For a while it made me roll my eyes but then, I realised its rarely mentioned in western TV series? In all the ones I've watched, the women in series, unless its somehow extremely relevant to the plot, it never gets mentioned? Like they're superhuman and have no periods?
(I'm saying women here because unfortunately cdramas are still a long way off from reaching a point where LGBTQ+ is acceptable, I mean they have banned 1 series because it was 2 guys and all series that are based on BLs novels are often toned down to just a bromance.. at this point im gonna drop cdramas altogether. Got slightly better representation in jdramas and kdrama but its early days, Taiwanese dramas atm seem to be killing it, same with thai dramas albeit its still a long way off as is most tv representation..)
But I digress, I just find it interesting, in the latest one the FL suffered from dysmenorrhoea , and it was discussed semi openly. And it is often, that the ML either goes and buys her pads, tampons, or gets her a hotwater bottle or some treatment. Anyone know the reasons behind it? Is China trying to display a lack of period poverty? Or promote understanding?
Love Unexpected. 8

Comparable to: Secret Garden (kdrama)
Rewatched, definitely have to be in the right mood to watch this one. Second time around it became high on a list of top cdrama romcom’s. The chemistry between main leads is everything in this. The storyline does waver a tad towards the middle and you sort of have to overcome the reason of disbelief that a tiny thing like the main female lead is a ass kicking machine but when it comes to a dramatic moment becomes a damsel in distress.

不可思议的爱情 LOVE UNEXPECTED (2021)
If I could, I would give you all of my luck.
Love you, always.
I have mixed feelings about these frog eyes hair clips. On the one hand, they’re kinda cute in a weird way. On the other hand, I wouldn’t dare leave the house with them unless it was for a costume party or something. And I would definitely not go to work with them. People would have questions for sure.
