𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄. She asked it, and yet, Lucifer didn’t have an answer. How to explain to her that a release from this existence, this hellish state, would be welcomed? That he’d never wanted all this pain and yet, it had been bestowed upon him, changed him in ways he’d never sought? Never desired? Death wouldn’t be a trap, he felt. In fact, perhaps it might even be more freedom than he’d ever possessed. 

Freedom sought in a rebellion that had only amounted to landing in imprisonment. 

Maybe death was indeed the answer. ❝A nothingness, an escape from all that is.❞ He smiled at her again. It was an explanation, of sorts, but Lucifer didn’t seem to mind if she didn’t grasp it. Still so... new. She was always special, though.

Bold of you, niece, to assume that A) Underworld beats Queen of the entire pantheon and B) You can screw the humans over any more than they already have. They don’t believe in us anymore. All they believe in is the asshole you and your husband blindly like. Just like all the mortals.
