For so long I though achievement was going to fill the hole. 💫 I achieved straight A grades at school, achieved regional representation in sport, achieved at eating the "perfect" diet, achieved national title wins as a high performance sports coach, achieved an incredible feat of endurance by running an ultramarathon, achieved qualifications as a yoga teacher and achieved great things working as a spiritual teacher. All by the age of 24 but with my 25th birthday fast approaching things have to change because I realise no achievement is ever going to fill the hole inside. 💫 So what is this hole inside? It is a disconnection from the love that is our source. No-one ever gets perfect love from their parents and despite my parents doing an amazing job human love is never going to be enough. To fill up the love-tank we can do many things but for me the focus was on achievement. And the more and more I achieved the more and more desperate I got because the achievement had to keep getting bigger and better to stop me from really looking at the hole. And it hurt alot-all the feelings of not being good enough, of being unworthy and of being unloveable. It still does hurt but slowly things are changing for the better. 💫 So what does it mean to "quit achievement"? Words are always limited and I felt this needed more explanation. Personally I believe a spiritual life is perfectly aligned with being very successful and appearing to achieve alot on the outside. Yet the key point is the inner posture we have towards these achievements. Is it something that fills the hole on the inside, giving you validation, making you like yourself and most of all used to get love? Or is it something that comes from an extension of love from the source, which sure feels great and perhaps looks wonderful in the eyes of others, but comes from a deeper place? These things are so subtle and take so much work but eventually we start to realise that perhaps the greatest "achievement" is being aligned with love and letting its magic work through your life in its own heart-breaking, chaotic and imperfectly perfect way Xx 💫 #achievement #noachievment #love #loveisoursource #achieving https://www.instagram.com/p/BtVz7csgx8_/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hav8mt2s44tg
